Cubswork is the ONLY shop that creates custom pawprints portraits. A pawprint is scrolled from basswood, representing the family the animal belongs to (canid, feline, ursine, etc.). The edges of the scroll are then contoured to represent a natural imprint. Then, a portrait is woodburned into the center of the pawpad.

My goal is photorealistic, super detailed renderings of your pet or loved one, from natural wood, in a variety of mediums: disks, planks, furniture, even cabinet doors and drawer fronts! If the project is a large piece of furniture, or a series of cabinet doors, discounts will apply for multiple units in the same run. I can woodburn UNFINISHED furniture, doors and drawer fronts only.
Most pieces are made from solid basswood, unless otherwise requested, finished with a light coat of satin laquer. If you desire another wood, chances are, we're growing it in the backyard.
You can e-mail me a copy of your photo, or snail mail me an original. Original photos will be returned with the finished piece.

Another Cubswork exclusive! A center square or circle has a woodburning of your animal totem, pet, or portrait. The four arms are burned with the Japanese kanji of the attributes that best describe the totem. This concept can also be expanded to include any language or calligraphy, or as a memorial to a lost loved with, complete with name and dates on the arms.

I feel that good calligraphy can be every bit an art form as the picture it describes. All of my plaques are made from scratch in my shop, NOT bought at a hobby store. You tell me what you want on them, and I'll burn them.
